WHEN THIS GERMAN-AMERICAN COUPLE PURCHASED THEIR NEW RESIDENCE IN LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA, THE BEACH INSPIRED STYLE DID NOT FIT THEIR TASTES. THOUGH THEY WERE IN LOVE WITH THE BREATHTAKING VIEWS AND WANTED THE BEAUTY OF THE NATURAL SURROUNDINGS, THEY ALSO WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT THEIR MODERN ART COLLECTION WITH A MORE CONTEMPORARY, OPEN FLOOR PLAN STYLE.

M.A.P. INTERIORS CHOSE A CLEAN-LINED, SOPHISTICATED DESIGN WITH A SIMPLE YET EFFICIENT LAYOUT.

SYLVIA BEEZ SELECTED FURNISHINGS AND ACCESSORIES THAT REFLECTED THE OWNERS’ APPRECIATION FOR CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN AND FRENCH FURNITURE AND COMPLEMENTED THEIR ART COLLECTION AND ASIAN ARTIFACTS.

TO ADD CONTRAST TO THE COOLER FEEL OF THE CONTEMPORARY EUROPEAN FURNITURE, WARMER MATERIALS, SUCH AS CHERRY WOOD CABINETRY AND DARK WALNUT FLOORS AND BUILT-INS, WERE ADDED. FINALLY, THE FURNITURE AND RUG COLORS WERE KEPT NEUTRAL AS A BACKDROP FOR THE STRIKING ART AS WELL AS TO EMPHASIZE THE GORGEOUS OCEAN VIEWS.
