WHEN M.A.P. INTERIORS BEGAN WORKING IN THIS MIDCENTURY RANCH HOUSE, IT HAD NOT BEEN RENOVATED SINCE BEING BUILT IN 1957. THE DESIGN CHALLENGE WAS TO CREATE A MODERN SPACE WHILE ACKNOWLEDGING THE ORIGINAL INTEGRITY AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE HOME.

THIS WAS ACHIEVED BY COMBINING MODERN AND RUSTIC STYLES, ALONG WITH UNIQUE ELEMENTS TO CREATE A TIMELESS YET CONTEMPORARY DESIGN.  FOR INSTANCE, THE REDESIGN AND MODERNIZATION OF THE KITCHEN ALSO INCLUDED PORCELAIN FLOOR TILES THAT RESEMBLE OLD, WOODEN CARGO BOXES WITH SHIPPING INSCRIPTIONS. THE LIVING ROOM INCLUDES MODERN CLASSIC FURNITURE LIKE THE LE CORBUSIER SOFA AND CHAIRS AND THE EERO SAARINEN WOMB CHAIR AND OTTOMAN SURROUNDING A CLASSIC ISAMU NOGUCHI COFFEE TABLE. THE DINING ROOM BOASTS A CONTEMPORARY CLEAN LINED TABLE WITH A RUSTIC, RECLAIMED WOOD TOP.

ALL THIS BLENDS INTO A CONTEMPORARY UNIQUE STYLE WITHIN A 1950S SETTING.
